Don't let the names of these recipes scare you. They are filled with Powerful Protein, Friendly Fat and Colorful Carbs that taste great and can be eaten all year long! When you stop and truly consider how many sugar-filled fake foods kids are offered starting mid-October, all in the name of fun, you realize they are getting more tricks than treats! All those tricks are not fun for their growing bodies. We believe in sweet treats; we just believe they should be REAL (or at least bridging) the majority of the time. And, with Chef Jackie's Halloween recipes, we make it easy for you to serve REAL food not only to your own kids but the whole neighborhood – if you're so inclined!

Bat Wings ~ Melanie Potock

"Bat wings are a nice alternative to the traditional spicy wings that may be just too much for younger children. The garlic gives the recipe just enough "bite!"

Eye of Newt ~ Aleksandra Errett

"This was a great way to have the kids eat eggs. Some of the kiddies from my daycare don't like eggs. Let's say they ate it all with a smile!"

Maple Pumpkin Seeds ~ Meg Brake

Tommy - age 9. "They were awesome." ...Timmy - age 6. "That was good." (he is my very reluctant taster!) Meg (Mom)-This was quick and easy to make. They would make excellent additions to trail mixes and perfect snacks during sporting events. I love the idea of using different seasons to change the taste."

Pickled Goblin Fingers ~ Meg Brake

Tommy, age 9 - "These are delicious!"...Timmy, age 6 - "Yummy!"...Meg (Mom) "These were very tasty."

Pumpkin Pudding ~ Aleksandra Errett

"This was a great substitute for store-bought pudding."

Vampire Bites ~ Clairissa Cooper

"A bloody good treat that will appease the pickiest of eaters!"
