Apple Raw Bars


Description

A convenient nutrient-dense snack that replaces store bought 'grab-n-go' bars.

  • 16oz. pitted dates
  • 1/4 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 oz. dried apples
  • 1/4 cup ground walnuts
  • 1/4 cup ground almonds
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  • In the bowl of a large food processor add the dates and the olive oil and blend until a large ball forms.
  • Transfer dates to a large bowl.
  • To the food processor add aples, ground nuts, raisins and cinnamon and process to combine.
  • Move the mixture to the bowl with the dates knead with your hands to thoroughly combine.
  • Press the mixture onto a flat surface to approximately 1/2" thickness.
  • Cut into bars, wrap individually and place in the refrigerator for extended storage.

Additional Tips

Soaking nuts and seeds in water overnight helps make them more nutritious and digestible.
