A whole grain breakfast that hits the spot and will get your kids off to a great morning.

Ingredients

  • 4 C organic rolled oats
  • 2 C organic steel cut oats
  • 5 C filtered water
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 C organic apple cider, juice or filtered water
  • 3 ½ C filtered water
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • ½ tsp. clove
  • 1 Tbsp. pure vanilla
  • ½ cup almonds, dried currents, raisins, cherries, or cranberries (Optional, but great Super Food additions.)
  • ½ C organic butter (Optional, but a good source of healthy fat if organic.)

Directions

Take first four ingredients, combine and let sit out at room temperature for 12-24 hours. In the morning or when ready to cook, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix soaked oats with remaining ingredients, except butter. Bake for 1 hour. Stir in butter if using and serve. Refrigerate leftovers and warm on stovetop or in steam baskets over hot water for a quick and nutritious breakfast another morning. Add fresh blueberries to change it slightly if desired.
