We celebrated Valentine’s a day early with Elle’s (4) preschool class yesterday. The parents decided to have a REAL Valentine’s party compete with red smoothies (shhh…I added some spinach), red peppers, grape tomatoes, slices of watermelon, apple, and beets. I LOVE BEETS (just like my Dad), but didn’t think any of Elle’s classmates would! You can only imagine how BIG I smiled when I saw cutie girl with her red hands and mouth (see picture). Yep, those are beet stains! Turns out she loves beets – her parents buy them every week for her and her little brother (not even 2)! Music to my ears.
This just goes to show how much we all learn, by opening our hearts and minds to a different way – in this case a REAL Valentine’s party. I learned a 4 year old can love beets as much as I do and Elle learned her friend loves beets (Elle calls them radishes…hmmm more learning to do over here in the McCreadie household)!
I truly believe this is how we will turn around the health of our nation – by opening our hearts and minds to another way…the REAL way – REAL food, REAL health, and REAL parenting.
Today is probably the biggest day EVER for Angelle and me, as we launch our non-profit get REAL for kids™ and the get REAL Revolution™ with our first celebrity get REAL mom, Selma Blair. Just as First Lady Michele Obama says…
