“So what mistakes did you make today guys?” I asked Jacob and Lucas while they were playing catch in the basement and watching the Detroit Tigers play to win the American League Championship. I’ve found that with my two 9-year old boys some of our best conversations happen while they are involved in something to do with sports.

 Your childs brain is so busy. It is working 24 hours a day and consequently needs brain food flowing to it constantly. It needs amino acids from proteins; vitamins and minerals from plant foods; specific fats from foods; and glucose in the form of blood sugar. Unlike chipmunks, the brain does not have the ability to store food for when it needs some energy later.
