I always thought Gesundheit meant “Bless You”, but apparently it means “Good Health”. Learn something new everyday, which isn’t hard for me! ( Kaitlin’s first grade homework has my wheels spinning some nights.) Isn’t it funny how tradition happens? Back in the day, when someone sneezed you said “Bless You” to protect their soul from flying out of their body. Superstition. What’s powerful is how it’s stuck! It’s near impossible to stop yourself from saying it – try it sometime. Not saying “Bless You” or “Gesundheit” after someone sneezes, feels like you left the person hangin’! Half-done.

I work with a lot of children who live with allergies: food allergies, asthma, eczema and hay fever to name a few. Since the majority of the immune system lives in the gut, I always focus on re-balancing these children’s digestive systems as well.

Moi? Me? My child has allergies? No way! Yes way…We discovered Elle’s cat allergy during a photo shoot. All was well until she bounced up and down in a haystack of pillows (where minutes prior the photographer's cat was relaxing in the sun). Within minutes Elle was rubbing her eyes (now red) and sneezing. Voila! New diagnosis. Cat allergy. Really? Thanks to her dad. Ha! He’s so allergic to cats and dogs – breaks out in hives if a dog licks his skin and cannot stay in a house with a cat or dog without wheezing. Hmmm. This is not the final destination I want for Elle, turning 4 next week!
